Well over a month ago, we took the kids to the Santa Barbara Zoo. It's a lovely zoo, just small enough for Brayden to walk without getting tired. We saw lots of great animals and Brayden even had the chance to feed a giraffe!
We walked out on to a platform and were looking eye-to-eye with a beautiful giraffe! Brayden was given several pellets to feed him, but she kept dropping them. Finally, she was given a special giraffe treat and, amongst lots of squeals, handed it to him successfully! As a thank you, the giraffe stuck out it's tongue to give her a big kiss! Brayden wanted none of that!
We went over to a little kid's area to let Blake get down and wander. He found gigantic eggs to climb into and play in. I took TONS of cute pictures of that!!
Kids are always figuring out a way to have fun...there was a big hill covered in an astro-turf type material. All the kids in the area were using their zoo maps to slide down the hill at lightening speed! Some kids even found some cardboard to use. After all this excitement, the kids crashed hard on the drive home!
